The Spring Art Walk & Wine Tasting Event will be held Saturday, April 25th in Downtown West Branch. From 5-8pm, sample wines from 3 local wineries, nibble sweet treats, admire stunning art work and vote for your favorite, For more information visit West Branch Events Dot Com.

 

 

The Robert J. Parks Library will host their 5th Annual Spring Art Show beginning Saturday, April 25th through May 25th at the Library, 6010 North Skeel Avenue in Oscoda. During regular library hours you’re welcome to come in and see local art work by area artists. For more information call the Library at 989-739-9581.

 

The Michigan State Police will take part in Saturday, April 2National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Saturday, April 25th 10am-2pm, at all 31 State Police Posts. The Tawas Bay Art Gallery will host a class in Acrylic Landscape Painting, with instructor Carolyn Kubiak:

 

Tuesday, April 28th 1-4pm

Wednesday, April 29th 6-9pm

 

At the Gallery, 302 Newman Street, East Tawas. Cost is $35 plus $8 for supplies. Registration and prepayment required by calling 989-362-5613.

 

 

RLD Glass Art & Restoration and Alpena Community College Oscoda Campus will hold the class Mosaics Express on Wednesday, April 29th from 6-8pm at the Oscoda Campus of ACC at 5800 North Skeel Avenue in Oscoda. Enjoy a fun two-hour experience learning how to create a unique work of art. This class will give you all the basic knowledge of cutting, adhering tiles and glass to your small decorative piece of art.  All tools, materials, and equipment will be provided. Cost is $35 and you can sign up by calling 989-358-7295 or emailing dykesc@alpenacc.edu.  

 

 

WEEKLY EVENTS

MONDAY:

Bingo: The Alcona County Commission on Aging hosts Bingo the first and third Monday of every month at 2pm in the Senior Center Dining Hall, 207 South Church Street, Lincoln. Coffee and popcorn available too.

 

Community Supper: The Collective by Tawas Wellness hosts a Community Supper The first Monday of each month from 4-6:30pm at 821 Newman Street, East Tawas with a menu with burgers and seafood and weekly special. To go orders at 989-305-6322.

 

Bingo: The Mikado Goodfellows host Bingo Mondays at the Civic Center on F-41. Doors open at 4pm, Bingo at 6:30pm. Food available for purchase. Proceeds to Charity.

 

Bunko and Darts: American Legion Post #422 invites everyone to play the dice game Bunko the first and third Monday of every month at 5:30pm and Darts at 6pm, at the Post, 429 West Main Street, Hale. All are welcome. For more information call 989-728-5055.

TUESDAY:

Bingo: The Sand Lake Seniors host Bingo Tuesdays in the Sand Lake Heights Building, 4059 Indian Lake Road, National City. Doors open at 11am, Bingo starts at noon. Proceeds to the Sand Lake Seniors.

 

Euchre: The Alcona County Commission on Aging hosts Euchre Day, Tuesdays beginning at 12:30pm, at the Senior Center, 207 South Church Street, Lincoln. Tickets one dollar, 10 cents per Euchre, free popcorn and coffee. Call 989-334-3466 for more information.

 

THURSDAY:

Bingo: The Hale VFW hosts Bingo Thursdays at their hall, 203 Ainsley Street, Hale. Doors open at 4pm, Bingo starts at 6pm:

 

Line Dancing: "Thursday Night at the V" Line Dancing Class will be held Thursdays from 6-8pm at VFW Post #3735 at 240 Chrysler Road in Oscoda. 

 

FRIDAY:

Fish Fry: American Legion Post #211 will hold a Lenten Fish Fry every Friday through April 3rd from 4-6pm. Cost is $15 per person and includes fish, potato, coleslaw, veggie, drink, and dessert. 

 

Fish Fry: The Ogemaw Council #2022 Knights of Columbus will hold a Friday Night Fish Fry every Friday until April 3rd from 4-7pm, at the Columbus Home Hall, 601 Columbus Drive, West Branch. Adults $14, children $10 and includes fish, fries, choice of side, dinner roll and drink. Take outs available at 989-345-7110. All proceeds benefit St. Joseph Catholic School in West Branch.
